Patch #ROYAL-ball : $1.50

Have a dance or an event. Decorations could include participants decorating their crowns or septers. See below for some quick ideas.

Focal point coming into the event: Using poster board, several pieces taped together, creating an arch walk through. Trim the top to create an arch at the top. Cover the poster board with stars, flowers (made of construction paper, tissue paper, or fake ones), crowns, septers, glitter, white horse, glass slippers, pumpkin, prince, and/or frogs. You can purchase some fake flowers at the dollar store or make them out of tissue paper. For extra, you can attach jewels/rhinestones for extra bling! Attach it around the doorway with packing tape. {You may want to create it in two separate pieces so you can transport it to your event.}

For extra, you can cut out various "Royal" themed items from poster board (see above) or make a castle and place it on the bottom of the arch.

Attire: For this event you can wear a nice dress, tiara/crown (template available in England or Once Upon a Time kits), fancy hair, jewels--anything for your night with your prince or princess!

Decorations inside the facility: Decorations could include participants decorating a glass slipper, crown, stars, frog, septer/wand, moon, and/or tiara. You can create them out of construction paper and/or poster board. For extra, you can add glitter or rhinestones for extra bling. Each group could receive a pattern for the decoration. Collect the decorations at the next meeting before the dance. Before the guests arrive tape them on the wall behind the tables. Personal touch yet very festive. Cuts down on cost for the event as well.

Refreshments: Festive tablecloths in various or all the same colors (red, pink, blue, gray, purple) should be used to cover the table. Place a plastic basket of chocolates (be aware of allergies!), cookies, and/or candies on each table with a "vase" with a wand with a star at the end of it (template available in Once Upon a Time Kit) with the group's name on it or flowers paired with it. Flowers can be real, fake (found at craft stores or dollar stores), or tissue paper. Water bottles can be placed on each table with princess/royal stickers on them. Use a piece of cardstock folded over to place on each table with the name of the group.

Extra: Take photos of each group or if it is a parent/daughter event take pictures of couples. A backdrop could be a black sheet with stars attached to it. You can also stamp flowers or metallic royal items on the fabric as well or stencil the lettering "Royal Ball" on the backdrop. You could also have a castle or other various items (horse, carriage, nice chairs, etc.) and/or have the child hold flowers, a wand/septer, or a frog. Child sits on stool and parent stands.
