Traveling Apron
Community Service Program

Patch #TRAVEL-APRON: $1.75

The traveling apron was first piloted in 2006, as a way to celebrate the Spread the Bread-giving ways and connect bread givers to their Spread the Bread global community. Traveling aprons flew all over the country--and the world. Each apron told a story--a bread story about hope, inspiration, gratitude and the power of BREAD.

How do I get started?

While you are making your bread to donate you can participate in the traveling apron program!

Have each person sign the apron after they assist in creating the the Bread project by spreading bread to honor a hero or to help someone in need of a smile.

How do get an apron ?

1. Purchase an apron. You can buy one online at Patchwork Designs, Inc or at your local store.

What do I when I purchase the apron ?

Sign the apron--or decorate it with a bread expression--art, a poem--whatever feels right:) (not required) Have fun--share the apron and its story with friends and community members/school.

Give the apron to another person/group when you are finished.

What happens when the apron is signed, front and back, and completely cover in bread signatures/fun?

You can complete a lottery within your group and draw a name for the receipt of the apron.

You can also send the apron to the Spread the Bread organization and they randomly select a name on the apron and that person receives the gift of the apron.

If you want to mail the apron to the Spread the Bread organization, please mail the completed apron to the following address:
